The UAE-India Economic Forum (UIEF) is the definitive platform to discuss and evaluate UAE-India trade opportunities and aims to address the policy framework and guidelines required to attract investors, sovereign wealth funds, large corporates and industries, focusing on critical sectors like infrastructure, tourism, renewable energy and banking. This year the forum was held between the periods October 19 – 20, 2016 at Madinat Jumeirah’s Mina A’Salam and attended by some of the most eminent policymakers and industry leaders from both the countries.
His Excellency Suhail Mohd Al Zarooni, Guinness World Record Holder & Chairman Al Zarooni Foundation attended UAE-India Economic Forum (UIEF) on the invitation of His Excellency Anurag Bhushan, Consul General of India, Dubai on 20th October 2016. Suhail Mohd Al Zarooni was welcomed by the organizers and by Her Excellency Ms. Neeta Bhushan, Charge D’ Affairs, Embassy of India, Abu Dhabi at the conference.
Mr Shaik Mansoor, Manager-Events & Conferences, Bloomberg Business Week Middle East escorted His Excellency Suhail Mohd Al Zarooni to the media wall where Al Zarooni was introduced to Sri M.J. Akbar. Hon’ble Minister of State for External Affairs, Mr M.J. Akbar warm welcomed Al Zarooni to the UAE INDIA Economic Forum and had the group photos with Her Excellency Ms Neeta Bhushan, Charge D’ Affairs, Embassy of India, Abu Dhabi along with other eminent dignitaries. Suhail Al Zarooni then escorted to the VVIP Head table at the conference where He had insightful conversation with Hon’ble Minister of State for External Affairs, Mr M.J. Akbar & Her Excellency Ms Neeta Bhushan, Charge D’ Affairs, Embassy of India, Abu Dhabi.
The two-day forum was inaugurated by Indian Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari on October 19th and Hon’ble Minister of State for External Affairs, Mr. M.J. Akbar delivered his keynote speech on the second day of the gathering. The forum is a flagship event organized by UMS Conferences, creating the most definitive platform for major investors and government leaders from UAE and India to discuss policy frameworks and guidelines required to attract investments, sovereign wealth funds, large corporations, industries, focusing on critical sectors like infrastructure, tourism, renewable energy and banking. The event has the support of the Ministry of Economy, UAE and a strategic partnership with the Consulate General of India in Dubai.
The second edition of the UIEF is supported by the UAE’s Ministry of Economy, UAE, Consulate General of India, Dubai, International Investors Council, Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Invest India and Abu Dhabi Global Market. Focusing on the out comings of the enduring partnership between United Arab Emirates and India, the second edition of the UAE India Economic Forum is a step towards realizing the goal of $ 100 billion as the bilateral trade value between these countries by 2020, which has been forecasted as the potential that exists and can be achieved.
The past edition of the event saw tremendous support from both the countries, bringing major investors and government leaders from both the countries under one platform. The 2015 event was inaugurated by Hon. Shri Arun Jaitley, Finance Minister of India, along with the presence of more than three hundred delegates from the C suite as well as Ministry and Government Officials, Chairmen’s and business owners from UAE and India.
Suhail Mohd. Al Zarooni said that UAE is India’s top export destination, accounting for more than 10 per cent of its tangible exports, which also is another economic potential for future development. He further added that this forum is successful in communicating a set of insights that stimulated investors’ interests, as well as enabled them a more confident take in understanding why investing in “UAE-India” now is the right way to move forward. He also praised the top line-up of speakers include top leaders from the industry from both the countries, with UIEF emerging as a definitive networking and knowledge-sharing platform for major investors and government leaders.
